AHK-ERD10 - Grounding Cable for Hydrophon ASF-1 MKII

Grounding cables prevent a hydrophone to buzz or hum when it touches the water due to  magnetic interference on your location. The cable establish an electrical connection between the chassis of your recorder and the water that touches your hydrophone. For this a wire that is connected to pin 1 of a free XLR input and held into the water near the Hydrophone.

ATTENTION:
When you notice induced mains hum while recording from a boat:

If your mixer/recorder is connected to the electrical ground of the boat, ALWAYS disconnect the ground of your mixer/recorder from the mains ground (e.g., use battery power instead) before connecting the audio ground to the water.
