Cinela LEO - windscreen

The LEONARD Ball follows the tradition of removable front windscreens for use with microphones without interference tubes. Like all other windscreens for pressure-gradient sensitive microphones (cardioid, hypercardioid), the principle involves creating a chamber around the capsule to reduce pressure differences on either side of the diaphragm.

The first “skin” is made of a 3D fabric with selected porosity (similar to Zephyx/Piano/Pianissimo) for indoor use. For outdoor use, a removable fur can be added.

Unlike its larger counterparts (Piano, Pianissimo, or Zephyx), the volume of the LEO is relatively reduced, requiring a delicate balance between size, wind protection, and acoustic transparency. Nevertheless, it has a diameter of 10 cm (without fur), allowing it to maintain “soft” sound degradation in relation to its wind protection performance.
