LockitBT - the Timecode and Sync Generator

Ambient Timecode is synonymous with precision and reliability. The world's most respected post-productions insist on using Ambient Timecode on set because it saves them valuable time. Why timecode saves time? Find out here.

Zero Drift

The Ambient Communication Network (ACN) is our own wireless network that connects all Lockit boxes on set. When C-Jam (Continuous Jam) mode is activated, all Lockit devices are constantly synchronized with each other. This allows us to achieve zero drift. In other words: an incredible 0.0ppm drift over an entire day of shooting.

ACN - Ambient Communication Network

ACN is our own stable, interference-resistant radio network through which Lockit devices communicate with each other. This makes the connection independent of interfering radiations, bad network or adverse weather conditions. Learn more about ACN here.

Bluetooth Interface

Compared to the Lockit (ACN-CL), the LockitBT has an additional Bluetooth interface. This enables remote control via the “LockitRemote” smartphone app (available free of charge for iOS and Android) and transmission of timecode information to compatible devices from other manufacturers.

LockitRemote App

Connect your LockitBT via Bluetooth and adjust all settings directly on your smartphone. You can control the entire LockitBT menu and start the C-Jam Master. In “ACN Radar,” you can monitor and control all Lockit devices on the same ACN channel - even older models.

One Button Syncing

Press the green button on one of your Lockit boxes for three seconds, and via ACN all other Lockit devices (in the same ACN channel) are synchronized in terms of TC and frame rate settings. This initial sync already ensures frame accuracy for the whole day.

App or Display Menu

In addition to the LockitRemote app, the LockitBT can also be set up using the haptic OLED display menu (press the red and green buttons simultaneously to open).

Battery

With a single standard NP-50 battery with 750mAh, the ACN-CL Lockit will last approximately 14 hours. ACN communication (C-Jam Mode) only hardly impacts runtime.

The replaceable lithium-ion battery can be charged during operation. The NP-50 battery is widely used in the pro audio industry and is often available with inexpensive chargers.

All Sync Formats

Designed for today’s equipment it supports 1080P and 1080i genlock for project rates 23.976 to 60 FPS while audio recorders are covered with wordclock up to 192 KHz.

Outputs

Two Lemo-compatible push-pull sockets provide maximum flexibility and continued use of available cables. TC in and out follow industry standard and allow for syncing of 2 cameras in parallel or jamming via a cable while leaving the synced unit connected.

The primary output carries timecode and genlock/wordclock. This gives you the freedom to choose running it either on straight, Y-split cable or 2 separate leads using the second connector for timecode which also connects to devices that support ACN for metadata transfer.

MIDI Timecode

While LTC timecode is output via the side Lemo-compatible sockets, MIDI timecode can be tapped via the USB-C interface. For example, to feed timecode to the DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) on your laptop. Some camera types also accept MIDI timecode via a standard USB cable.

Powering and charging

External power and charging are available through a common USB-C port. Connected to a Mac or PC the Lockit transforms into a MIDI timecode interface without additional configuration and allows for deep level editing of the settings.
