 The purpose of the wideband architecture is to provide the flexibility needed to deal with a changing RF environment and for mobile productions covering large geographical areas.

A precision stripline splitter/isolator divides the RF signal into four isolated signals to prevent unwanted RF coupling between receivers. The splitter/isolator is independent of the termination resistor matching, which prevents mismatched or disconnected RF outputs from affecting the other receivers.

As a result, the RF multicoupler maintains the sensitivity and overload performance of the receivers. Selective filters in the front end attenuate RF signals above and below the passband to suppress intermodulation and noise. The filters are followed by a low-noise amplified RF amplifier whose gain is matched to the losses in the downstream splitter.

The assembly is powered from an external source of 11 to 18 VDC, with individual automatic reset fuses for each receiver in the RF/power distribution module.
