Three directional capsules are arranged in a front-back array, combining the performance of a shotgun microphone with the behavior of a second-order pressure gradient microphone in a single device. This unique design enables the CS-3e to achieve an exceptional supercardioid directional pattern in both the lowest frequencies and across the entire frequency range, all within a microphone that is only 27 cm (10 inches) long.
