Thanks to its vertically arranged three-capsule design, the CSS-5 offers excellent mono/stereo compatibility without phase issues.
In MONO mode, the CSS-5 provides a sharp directional pattern across a wide frequency range, making it ideal for clear recordings even in noisy or reverberant environments. In NORMAL mode, it captures targeted sounds with precision, featuring a stereo angle of approximately 115°. The WIDE mode expands the stereo width to 140 degrees, perfect for ambient sound recordings where dialogue will be added later.
