The RX-8 is an extremely small 8-channel receiver interface for the sound bag or sound cart. The RX-8 accepts audio signals from up to 8 separate transmitters and includes a built-in MicPlexer with antenna distribution and front-end filter to eliminate unwanted RF interference. It is the smallest 8-channel wireless microphone receiver system in the world!
An optional Dante interface with Power over Ethernet (PoE) facilitates remote location and control.
CONNECTIVITY
The RX-8 can output 8 analog or digital AES audio channels at 0 dB line level via the DB25 connector. The RS422 port can be paired with a TRXCL4 or IFB300 to share ZaxNet remote control commands. It has two SMA RF loop-throughs for additional antenna distribution.
OPTION WITH DANTE
When the RX-8 is remote controlled on set, you can send up to 16 channels of audio back to the sound cart via Dante, 8 from the RX-8 itself and 8 more via 4 AES pairs connected to the DB25.
If the RX-8 is remote controlled on set, it is possible to send 4 channels of balanced analog audio from the sound cart to the set via Dante. The audio can be used for IFB, VOG or monitoring. One of the audio channels can optionally be used to send timecode to the set. The timecode is then output via the BNC connector of the RX-8 and can be used to jam slates or connect to a ZaxNet transmitter on the set.
CHANNELS
The RX-8 receives up to eight audio channels from eight separate transmitters when fitted with 2 x MRX414 slot-in receiver modules.
INTUITIVE USER INTERFACE
Four OLED displays contain the menus for each pair of receivers and tactile push buttons make receiver selection and switching between menus a breeze. The integrated frequency scanner and auto-pick software take the guesswork out of coordinating and selecting the best frequencies at the touch of a button.
INTEGRATED FREQUENCY SCANNER
The RX-8's built-in frequency scanner and auto-pick software can scan the RF spectrum and select the best receiver frequencies. With ZaxNet™, the RX-8 in combination with an IFB300 or TRXCL4 can adjust the frequency of transmitters at the touch of a button. This combination also allows you to quickly and easily adjust the transmitter gain.
POWER SUPPLY
The RX-8 is supplied with power via a standard 12 V Hirose connection.
With Dante, the RX-8 can be powered via the 12 V input or remotely via Power over Ethernet (PoE). There is also a 12 V output that supplies up to 1 ampere for external receivers and transmitters when PoE is received.
The 12 V power Hirose input is a backup for the PoE connection with seamless switching in the event of a PoE power problem.
