The ACN is a proprietary network technology built into the newest generation of Lockit devices.


With the ability to wirelessly control all device clocks on the set, the ACN reliably syncs up picture and sound by delivering line level accurate timecode, genlock, and wordclock.
Along with its innovative, time-saving metadata collection/management system the ACN guarantees smooth, cost-effective workflow from the set to post-production.

Furthermore the ACN enables devices to become a fully-functional timecode transmitter or receiver. With the highly accurate generator running in the background taking over in case of a connection loss, timecode drop outs are relics of the past.

Visual Feedback

The MasterLockit adds control, flexibility and comfort to your existing Lockit setup.
Being designed to perform as central hub in your system, the unit is able to display and control all other ACN devices on set. With built-in web access, ACN system control is also available using the browser of any computer or mobile device via WiFi or ethernet. This enables you to name your Lockits and assign them to the camera or audio recorder to which they are connected.

What’s more, you can remotely jam sync all units on set, view battery status, set the time and user bits, use time of day, see the last clap time of the ACN-LS. Thus, one ACN-ML on your sound cart or in your bag improves efficiency by enabling control and monitor capability from a single location. Simply switch on your Lockits in the morning, set them to the correct ACN channel, and mount them on the device. The rest can be performed remotely and you always are up to date what your units are doing.

Lockit Metadata Communication

As productions already use Lockits and connect them to cameras, 3D-rigs, Sound recorders…, ACN-equipped Lockit units can also read out device-specific metadata for transmission to the Master Lockit server.

Based on the unrivaled accuracy of the Lockit system, the ACN uses global timecode as reference to create a comprehensive shot list containing crucial clip information like name, roll number, start and stop times of each and every recording and machine.

ACN Partner Program

Ambient has developed Lockit OEM modules with full ACN capabilities available for effortless 3rd party integration. This provides other equipment manufacturers the ability to incorporate Ambient’s  highly accurate timecode and metadata network.

The ACN utilizes an extremely reliable, proprietary 2.4GHz  ̶  network with 16 selectable channels for communication to minimize lag and interference with other radio sources. All gathered information is buffered until it is successfully received and stored.

With the LockitScript app, script supervisors note content information for every single clip. The MasterLockit Web Interface enables DITs to access the merged data through the MasterLockit in real-time, and to download important clip-based content information as e.g an ALE-File for direct import into your pregrading software.

  • Tell a script supervisor to work with the LockitScript app and a MasterLockit on set
  • Connect to the MasterLockit WiFi with your laptop
  • Enter the MasterLockit Web View in a browser
  • Go to Tab “Metadata Export” and select the information and format you need
  • Download the selected file directly to your accessing device

Within a single motion picture or television production, multiple people from different departments and companies are responsible for accurate and timely processing of file based digital video and audio. A comprehensive script workflow system is the essential element to ensure that content is processed accurately and on schedule.
The LockitNetwork system is specifically designed to integrate every department within a production workflow to enhance and simplify communication from set through post production. It can be broken down into 3 different communication components that work together.

LockitNetwork Webtools

The LockitNetwork Webtools is the basic, cloud based production service included with the LockitSCRIPT app. It is the hub that centralizes communication for distribution to all production departments.
As the production begins, production information such as script and call sheets are uploaded to the web access component.  Scenes are then set up with actors, estimated running times, and so on.

LockitNetwork Apps

This brings us to the second component of LockitNetwork system, the apps: The LockitSCRIPT for script supervisors and the complimentary TonMeister app for production sound mixers. All preproduction information is synced with the apps by one simple click. The LockitSCRIPT app is the on-set workcenter for script supervisors and continuity.
The third component to the LockitNetwork system is the ACN. This sophisticated wireless protocol was designed to seamlessly integrate right into existing production workflow to enable automatic frame accurate timecode synchronization and set spanning metadata distribution.

Where the magic happens

At the end of the day just press the app´s export button and the magic happens.
All required script and sound reports will be processed automatically, saving time and ensuring accurate synchronized data.
