Lockit Timecode by Ambient

Timecode and Sync (Genlock) on set provide frame-accurate synchronized video and audio clips.

The Lockit Family

Timecode on Set ...

Shooting with multiple cameras or recording sound externally? Connect one Lockit device to each of the cameras and sound recorders on set to feed them all with the same timecode & sync signal! Each clip now gets a unique, highly accurate timestamp thanks to the Lockits.

... Saves Time in Post-Production

In post-production, you can then synchronize all clips - thanks to the timecode as a reference - with just a few clicks.

Timecode vs. Sync

Timecode is the time stamp that the first frame of a clip receives. From then on, however, the cameras run on their internal clocks. Only a sync signal (genlock) can keep the cameras constantly synchronized to the exact line.

Timecode = Perfect for synchronizing clips in the edit.

Genlock (Sync) = Necessary for longer takes, VFX shots and virtual production.

Lockit Features

  • Zero Drift

In C-Jam (Continuous Jam) mode drift is completely eliminated, as Lockit boxes constantly tune to each other via ACN.

  • Wireless TC & Sync

Timecode is only half the battle. Only a sync signal (genlock / word clock) can keep the cameras constantly synchronized to the exact line. Ideal for longer takes and VFX recordings.

  • Better than Bluetooth

Using our own stable and interference-resistant ACN radio network, Lockit boxes send timecode and metadata back and forth over long distances.

  • MIDI Timecode

Lockits can serve as a MIDI timecode bridge. Connected to the computer, they take over the TC and frame rate of a DAW software and distribute it in the ACN. Ideal for music video shoots.

  • Rec Run

Using the TX Mode of our Lockit boxes you can auto-start and stop your audio recorder in Rec Run mode.

  • TC & Sync Offset

There are cameras that are always off by one or more frames, even though they are fed with the correct timecode. Set an offset individually for each device.
